Italian
Charms Advice - Help on Getting
Started in the Italian Charm
Business
Below
are a few quick pointers that we've
picked up along the way having
worked with over 8 different Italian
Charm companies, and hundreds of
retail stores across the
country.
This
should help get you started in your
new Italian Charm business:
-
Start
with a wide variety of
charms: It may take
some trial and error to figure
out exactly which type of charms
sell best in your particular
area. So we recommend not
loading up too heavily on any
particular charm, rather pick a
wide assortment of charms
(laser, enamel, numbers,
letters, etc...) as well as an
assortment of starter
bracelets. With low
minimum re-orders you can easily
begin to stock up on the best
selling charms as go along and
figure out what does best.
-
Offer
specials to help attract new
customers: A great
special to start out with is,
"Get a free Italian Charm
starter bracelet with the
purchase of any 2 (or 3...)
Italian Charms."
Starter bracelets will only cost
you a few dollars and you'll
easily make up for that if
someone buys a couple of charms.
-
Offer
specials for returning
customers: One example
that a store in Texas is doing
is that they are offering a
'punch-card' to all of their
Italian Charm customers, and
when the customer buys his/her
10th charm, they get one
free. This is a great way
to keep your customers coming
back to you for all of their
Italian charm needs.
-
Start
a Newsletter: We have
a customer (online store) which
has created both an email
newsletter and a hard-copy
newsletter which he mails out
once a month to anyone who's
purchased a charm from him in
the past. He lets them
know about new charms that he's
just gotten in stock, as well as
any sale items or other specials
that he may be running.
This would also work great for a
regular (non-online) retail
store. If your customers
are willing to give you their
address you can print up a
one-page flyer and send that out
when you get new charms in
stock. It's great if you
can contact your customers a few
weeks before any major holiday
too. Most of the charm
companies come out with
holiday-specific charms and
these are always huge sellers.
